Javascript

Javascript is a programming language used by IFSE to process forms.

Sometimes Javascript has been disabled in a Web browser. Enabling Javascript is a little different in each browser.

Enabling Javascript in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5

  1. Select the menu Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the second tab Security.
  3. Select the Internet zone.
  4. Click the Custom Level button.
  5. In the Security Options window, scroll down to the Active scripting heading of the Scripting section and check the box labeled Enable.
  6. Click the OK button.
  7. Click the OK button.

Microsoft Internet Explorer Version 5.5

The Web browser that you use for IFSE must be Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5.

You can check the version number by selecting the menu Help > About Microsoft Internet Explorer.

You can download Microsoft Internet Explorer from Microsoft to change the version or contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for more help.


Cookies Enabled

Cookies are used on the IFSE Web site to remember who you are. They must be enabled to use most of the Web site.

Enabling Cookies in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5

  1. Select the menu Tools > Internet Options.
  2. Click the second tab Security.
  3. Select the Internet zone.
  4. Click the Custom Level button.
  5. In the Security Options window, scroll down to the Allow cookies that are stored on your computer heading of the Cookies section and check the box labeled Enable.
  6. In the Security Options window, scroll down to the Allow per-session cookies (not stored) heading of the Cookies section and check the box labeled Enable.
  7. Click the OK button.
  8. Click the OK button.

Macromedia Flash Player

The IFSE Web site uses Macromedia Flash for most of the animations you see.

You can download the Macromedia Flash player from Macromedia.


Adobe Acrobat

IFSE creates printer files using the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). To view these files before printing you need a version of Adobe Acrobat.

800x600 Minimum Screen Resolution

The minimum screen resolution for the IFSE Web site is 800x600.


High Color (16 bit)

The color level for the IFSE Web site is High Color (16 bit) or higher.


Auto-Select Encoding

IFSE Web pages sometimes contain special characters. In order to see them correctly, your Web browser needs to be able to choose the correct character encoding.

  1. Select the menu View > Encoding.
  2. If Auto-Select is already checked then escape.
  3. If Auto-Select is not checked, select it.

Medium Text Size

The IFSE Web site is best viewed using the medium text size for the Web browser.
